MMC TRIBOLOGY

Metal matrix composites are made by a variety of techniques. Our research focuses on fabrication of MMCs by cold spray. We have studied a variety of material systems: Ti-TiC, Cu-MoS2, Ni-WC and Ti6Al4V-TiC. Our research addresses the deposition characteristics of metal-ceramic mixtures by cold spray and the properties and tribological performance of MMC coatings.
